Through some connections, Avi and I connected with an Armenian who runs several family businesses in Bethlehem, including a gold and silver jewelry factory. For several months I’ve been traveling to Bethlehem (about 40 minutes from our apartment, but requires parking at a checkpoint and him picking me up to drive me the rest of the way in Palestinian territory). It’s a great partnership, and I look forward to working together for many years. The US has free trade agreements with Israel and also with the Palestinian Authority. So my packaging on products from here will read ‘Made in Bethlehem, West Bank'.
